The old Central Division foes met up for this game after playing in Week 3 where the 0-2 Wesleys got their first win of the season in a 91-73 defeat over the Mountain Men. Memphis now moves to 8-5 all-time against Jackson Hole. Presnar’s victory gives him his fourth RFFL championship becoming the first owner in RFFL history to win four titles. Memphis took home the goods in back-to-back seasons in Year 11 and 12 and then Year 23 and now 25. Presnar waited for a long time in between

Memphis Wesleys Owner Kurt Presnar said he would retire after he wins RFFL Bowl XXV and that’s exactly what he did with his 100-93 victory over Travis Herzing and the Jackson Hole Mountain Men, capping a stellar run from Week 10 through the big game.

his championships but leaves the RFFL now as the most accomplished owner as far as championships go.

The Wesleys were led by Seahawks RB Rashaad Penny who was a late season addition for Presnar. Penny ran wild for 170 yards, added in 15 yards receiving and scored two touchdowns for a 30-point performance to earn RFFL Bowl XXV MVP honors. Penny becomes the 7th RB in 25 years to win RFFL Bowl MVP and first since RB Todd Gurley scored 39 points for the San Antonio Salsa in RFFL Bowl XXI. How late of an addition was Penny for Memphis? Presnar just picked him the week of the RFFL Bowl after RB Miles Sanders injury landed him on the IR. Presnar chose correctly as Penny was in the ideal spot this week and rode him to the title.

The other big performance for Memphis was QB Josh Allen. Playing in his second straight RFFL Bowl, Allen scored 23 points. Allen continues to show off his big game ability as he won MVP honors last season with 32 points for the Toronto Storm. While he doesn’t win the MVP this RFFL Bowl, Allen has now won the championship two years straight. Allen finished the year as QB1 as well, averaging 23.8 points per game.

WR Deebo Samuel (WR2) scored 14 points and WR Keenan Allen added 10 points. WR Odell Beckham scored nine points and TE Mark Andrews (TE1) finished with eight points. Rookie WR Jaylen Waddle managed just four points and RB Dalvin Cook struggled in the game with just one point. The Dallas defense (DEF1) added one as well. Besides the defense, Cook and Waddle, there were enough secondary scorers behind Penny and Allen to get the job done for the Wesleys.

For Jackson Hole, they saw two big performances while the rest of the team fell flat. QB Joe Burrow lit it up for the highest scoring output in RFFL Bowl XXV with 34 points while RB Devin Singletary scored 23 points. Burrow and Singletary combined for a solid 57 points for the Mountain Men while the rest of the team scored just 36 points. In a seven-point loss, there’s plenty of subpar performances to look at.

The all-Ohio orange color RB duo did not come through for Herzing and his Mountain Men. RB Nick Chubb (RB7) disappointed with just five points while RB Joe Mixon (RB3) did a little better adding eight points. The WRs were a complete letdown as well. WR Tee Higgins, catching balls from Burrow, only managed six points despite a big day from Burrow. WR Cordarrelle Patterson scored just five points and rookie WR DeVonta Smith struggled with five points as well. Rookie phenom TE Kyle Pitts managed six points and the Miami defense (DEF3) scored a paltry one point.

Just a couple weeks ago, it looked like it was a long shot for the Wesleys to make the playoffs. Memphis was 3-6 heading into Week 10 before going on a wild 4-1 run to finish the season at 7-7 and winning the Tomlinson Division title thanks to the tiebreaker over 7-7 Cleveland. In an all deciding Week 14 game versus Cleveland, the Wesleys exploded for a 163-113 victory. Memphis’ 163 points in Week 14 is the second most points in a single game in RFFL history coming up just two points shy of the record.

The Wesleys continued the momentum into the first round of the playoffs with 118 then 139 points in the semifinals and now an 100-point win to take home the RFFL title. Overall, the Wesleys finished the playoffs on a 7-1 run while scoring an average of 130 points over their last four games at the best time to get hot.

Presnar becomes the only owner in history with four RFFL championships, leaving Ryan Alexander and Jared Bridges in the dust after tying them for three titles just two years ago with a victory in RFFL Bowl XXIII. Presnar also becomes the first owner to retire and walk away on top after winning the championship.

Memphis also improved their RFFL Bowl record to a pristine 4-0 while Herzing’s Mountain Men suffers their first loss in the big game, dropping their record to 2-1.

Congratulations to Kurt Presnar on a run of a lifetime to close out the season and good luck to him as he gets on his horse and rides off into the sunset with four RFFL titles in hand.
